1. Choose your Style

Decide on what weave is preferable (single weave - minimalistic, solid colour, smaller custom dimension availability or double weave - more rugged, removes more dirt, solid colour, two tone or tri tone, much larger custom availability options).

2. Measure

Send us your maximum dimensions for each doormat and we will get back to you with a quote on how close we can craft a mat specific to your desired location.

3. Color(s)

Whether you decide on solid colour or multicolour we're happy to bring your vision to life! Please note, although we do not offer custom colour options we have a curated collection that we hope will be suitable for your project (see above).

Why Choose Custom?

Choosing to order custom does not necessarily mean our regular sized options will not work, however, they may not frame your space correctly.

Sometimes a space may be smaller or larger than what our standard sized doormat would fit. Deciding to choose custom allows you the freedom to create a space of proportionality and shows an attentive eye for detail.

How To Measure Your Entrance? 

When measuring to accommodate for a change in space, it is preferable that the measurement is taken from the centre of the casing around your door.

Similarly, if your space has sidelights, we often recommend your measurement be taken two inches past where the sidelight(s) ends. When working with smaller spaces you can measure the maximum width and depth, taking into account any exterior decor.

Questions To Ask When Choosing Custom:

What is the maximum width of my space?

Typically, we often reccommend measuring from the outside of the door trim. This way we are able to craft a proportional mat specific to your space.

Are there any additional items in my space (furniture, planters, statuary) which would affect the space available?

If you have any decor around your door it is often best to measure the space directly in front of your door only. That way if you decide to change out your entry decor you will have the space to do so without the mat taking over the space.

What is the maximum depth of my space?

The depth of a mat can make a great difference depending on how much space you have and the scale of the home. At Deep Cove Rope Co. the deepest mat we are able to make is 36". Often the ratio of 1:3 can be a good guide to follow (mat depth:space depth). If you have additional questions regarding this you can send us a message.

What style of doormat would I prefer? (single weave or double weave)

The main differences between our styles are size, ruggedness and aesthetic.

Size: Our single weave doormats can only be made up to 28" x 52" where as our double weave doormats can be made up to 36" x 216".

Ruggedness: Our double weave is designed for taking off more dirt, mud and grime from daily living. It is also great at removing snow due to its heavier duty weave.

Aesthetic: Our single weave is often chosen for more sleek and modern homes because of its lower profile and simple weave. Our double weave is our most popular style for cottages, beach homes, or the city as it is able to take off more dirt and you are able to get creative and mix and match colours.

What colour(s) would be best suited for my project?

Often times including a common colour in your doormat will add intention to the overall completion of the space. That said, sometimes being bold and adding a pop of colour can also look fanstastic!
